Mail Handling International

High Speed Mail Labelling System (For Indicia, Address and Tab Labelling) - Mail Handling International, Bristol

With solutions already installed with leading industry names such as UK Mail, Mail Options, LaPoste and BFPO (British Forces Post Office) for postage indicia and returns address labelling , Mail Handling International (http://www.mh-international.com) based in Bristol came to ALTech UK in 2009 with an urgent requirement to meet a large job they had just won.

Mail Handling International provides mail originators with the most cost effective mail route to market thorough a huge range of global mail providers - effectively providing their customers with a “money supermarket” type pricing comparison approach to direct mail fulfilment.

The net result of this is that vast quantities of direct mail pieces which may already have been indicia printed with a particular mail transporters indicia (e.g. “Royal Mail” ) require rapid over labelling with a new indicia of the provider offering the most competitive delivery service on that day.

Our solution, designed and manufactured by our UK engineering team in South Wales and supplied to MHI as a special build in less than 4 weeks is a fully integrated feed and labelling system for a full range of mail products from post cards to C4 envelopes with vacuum conveyor system, ALritma T Batch print and apply labelling head and intelligent shingle outfeed collection conveyor.

Quick and simple to set up and capable of a feed and labelling speed (even with print) of more than 15,000 mail units per hour, applying labels with millimetre accuracy over any existing printed indicia. The system also includes a special pneumatic peeler bar system which can be enabled to allow labelling of uneven packages and pouches.

MHI’s CEO commented “investment in ALTech’s mail labelling machine has certainly contributed to our recent growth in business whilst our industry as a whole has declined. Our existing labelling solution is virtually redundant as the ALTech solution is so much faster and easy to use!”
