ALbelt C wrap

C-wrap labelling is the name commonly given to the application of a label in a 'C shape' around the bottom, front and top of a product, and is a popular format on trays in such markets as meats, fish and fresh produce.

Multi-Panel C-wrap Labelling Systems

Our C-wrap labelling solutions can be tailored in both their size and performance to the requirements of the application, allowing us to optimise machines either economically or for ultimate performance, as guided by our customer.

The general principle of most C-wrap labelling machines is to pre-dispense the label across the path of the product and then drive the product through the label. A key feature that makes an ALTech machine different is something we call 'label flag', a function by which we can split the feed of the label (on to the product) into two parts.

This unique feature is important because when a label is pre-dispensed from the backing liner, control of the label is inherently reduced. Most machines pre-dispense the full label and then just drive the product through the label. Our machine can pre-dispense only the front and bottom parts of the label, keeping the peeler closer to the product. We then feed the remaining portion of the label accurately (and under greater tension) on to the product, before waiting (for the remaining length of the product to pass) and pre-dispense the next label.

Our range of possible C-wrap solutions is unmatched and not constrained to a standard off-the-shelf design. We can combine underside labelling systems, high speed, high capacity labelling heads (for speeds up to 100 trays per minute) and various coding solutions (such as a Markem or ICE printer; see Coding Solutions) with build standards to suit the environment the machine is to be placed.

ALbelt C wrap in Detail

Machines can also be specified with sophisticated automatic spacing and pitching solutions to ensure optimal flow to the labelling head.

Or in the case of rectangular products (feeding with their wide edge), we can include an accumulation sensor, holding a minimum charge of products in the spacing system, which we then use to square arriving products as they are received into the labelling system (where guides alone would not be sufficient).

A quick change pre-set peeler assembly can be supplied as an option, allowing the machine to quickly switch between C-wrap and normal top label application, making the machine extremely flexible.

We can also combine an additional base labelling head into the machine to provide multi-functional operation C-wrap, base labelling or top and bottom labelling (with the pre-set peeler mentioned above)

A common option is an additional dedicated promotional label applicator, to allow two label application (C-wrap and promo label) in the same product pass and without detriment to machine speed

For multi-head or multi-function machines, we warmly recommend our upgraded 'machine visual' central management controller. This option combines all elements of the machine into a single recipe (i.e. conveyor speed, pitch spacing, label application function etc) providing significantly reduced setup times, log reporting and remote access control.

(By default, the machine can store the functions of the labelling head in a recipe, but not the operation of the other devices)

Proven modular print and apply label application solutions for any barcode identification/traceability requirement.
