07/06/2011 - A revolution in automatic pallet labelling - the ALcode P LL LINERLESS pallet labelling machine.

The bringing together of two of our well proven print and apply products, the ALcode P multi face pallet labelling system and ALcode LL LINERLESS labelling head, we believe, looks set to cause a revolution in the standard for pallet labelling machines.

Having just completed a successful installation with a major soft drinks manufacturer applying A5 GS1 standard serial shipping labels on two or where required, to three faces of a pallet, the advantages of the LINERLESS pallet labelling machine (ALcode P LL) over traditional print and apply machines are clear.

These include:

  • Only a small premium over a standard ALcode P pallet labelling machine – easily off set by the label cost saving (around 20%) in only a matter of months.
  • More than double the run time between label reel changes – especially important with large labels sizes where normally only 1000-1500 labels can be fitted on a reel and larger diameter reels can not be handled by operators.
  • Labels compatibility with pallet stretch film: the application of a BOPP label on the pallet stretch film makes the scrap totally recyclable. A pure waste product. (ISO 14000, EN 13428:2004).
  • Improved barcode print definition / read rate – see this image showing the sharpness of line definition achieved on the synthetic linerless material vs. standard paper labels.
  • Improved print head life - less energy is required to print the image, and this combined with the fact there is virtually no label dust with the linerless material means machines also benefit from extended print head life vs. standard paper labels.
  • Reduced shipping and storage costs – more labels per reel means less reels to store and less shipping costs to receive.

In short, with the ALcode P LL LINERLESS you have a pallet labelling machine that runs for longer, costs you less and produces a higher quality, sharper pallet shipping label. All this whilst reducing your packaging waste and helping protect the environment.

18/05/2011 ALTech exhibit advanced new labelling technology at INTERPACK, Dusseldorf

Europe's largest trade event of the year for manufactures of packaging machinery, INTERPACK, held in Düsseldorf, Germany, provided the perfect occasion for ALTech to present an impressive selection of enhancements and new labelling machine models, as well as celebrate its 20th year in business.

On the stand, the breath of our labelling head range was well demonstrated with machines ranging from our simple, compact and particularly inexpensive ALstep E, to our cutting-edge ALritma X, which was shown running on a simulator wheel, accurately applying labels even at variable speeds at an incredible 1,000 labels per minute!

On display also were updated versions of our core ALstep and ALritma labelling head model ranges, including examples fitted with loop arm print and apply kits with the particular novelty that this kit can be retrofitted after the machine has been installed, as well as enlarged 400mm unwind and rewind options for extended machine operation and new more heavy duty twin tube bracket mounts.

However it was in the area of print and apply, and specifically our ALcode ‘real time’ machine range, where the strength of our model development was really best illustrated, with two key developments:

  • The release of a fully revised ALcode LL linerless print and apply machine (i.e. labels without backing paper!), now more compact and completely harmonised with the rest of our ALcode machine range; a machine we believe set to take the print and apply market by storm with its impressive cost/uptime/print definition & green credentials, especially in outer carton case labelling and logistics applications.
  • The launch of a new universal variant of our proven ‘tamp-blow’ application system, able to accept different label shapes and sizes without mechanical adjustment or change parts increasing the flexibility of this solution.

Also shown was our low cost ALcode LT economy print and apply machine, for applications requiring a compact and low cost real time solution, as well as at the other end of the spectrum, our well known ALcode P multi face pallet labelling machine, able to apply to two adjacent faces of a pallet with a single stop, and of course also available in linerless form providing a perfect synergy of technologies and a real world beating solution.

Finally, our premier inline labelling machine range – ALline, was shown in EC form for front-back and wraparound labelling of cylindrical and oval products. The system featured a new look, in a colour other than the usual cobalt blue that characterises the ALTECH range and was well received by our dealers and end user customers alike, who were particularly impressed with the user friendliness and changeover times of this production line labelling machine.

Watch our ALritma X simulator demonstration video from the show below, achieving a labelling speed of more than 1,000 labels per minute!
