14/10/2010 – Total Labelling Machine Flexibility – ALstep & ALritma

Previously as a prospective customer looking for an automatic labelling machine, you would need to decide upfront whether you required an “apply only” or “print and apply” solution. WITH ALTECH this is now a thing of the past!

Available as an option with either our workhorse ALstep or performing ALritma labelling heads, a full in-line thermal transfer print engine (allowing the print of text, graphics and barcodes) can now be added as a retrofit module kit, at no cost premium in the future to an existing machine (I.e. start with an apply only machine and then upgrade it to print and apply!)

As a module kit, one of the particular advantages of this is that we have complete flexibility in label printer (e.g. from SATO, Zebra or Datamax etc) and label applicator choice –e.g. you might require a relatively low speed label application solution but need an inline printer with "ribbon save", which is normally available only on more premium printer models, ultimately allowing us to provide you with the most cost effective solution for your needs.

So when you are next looking for a quality labelling machine for your automatic labelling requirements, consider this: with an ALTech solution you may not need a print and apply machine but its good to know the possibility is there should your needs change!

11/08/2010 - ALTech UK Labelling Technologies completes purchase of new premises!

ALTech UK are delighted to announce that after much delay, we have finally completed purchase of brand new offices on the recently constructed mixed technology/industrial park, Central Park, Bridgend, South Wales.

Situated within the heart of the Bridgend Industrial Estate almost exactly half way between Cardiff and Swansea and close to the M4 at Junction 35, the road access coupled with excellent rail and air links made Central Park the perfect location for the company to cement its roots.

With turnover up more than 50% on the previous year, director Rory Horton-Smith commented that the move was, "well overdue" and that the new premises should support the continued good performance of the company for many years to come, with the additional space allowing us to expand both stock levels and demonstration machinery.

By ironic coincidence, the new site is actually located almost directly opposite the former Sony TV plant, where many of our engineers actually learnt their trade, and which we can thank for the multi skilled facets of their abilities!

Design and build of the office internals to our specification is already well underway and we are hoping to be operating from our new premises by the end of October.
