Thermal Inkjet (TIJ)

HSA has a wide range of TIJ coding solutions, based around patented HP cartridge technology, with a wide range of inks to allow printing on to virtually any substrate. We have partnered with HSA since the early days of TIJ, and as such have a large installation base and extensive knowledge of both the product and technology to advise you on the correct solution for your needs.

TIJ has the desirable qualities of being both one of the lowest cost coding solutions you can implement and also the fastest, either printing directly on to a substrate on a conveyor (such as a carton or pouch) or within the feeder outlet of our Alfeeder Friction Feeders, or positioned on the web path of one of our labelling heads (where the label is printed as it is fed, so causing no detriment to the label applicator performance)

We commonly supply three core TIJ coding solutions from HSA which can be summarised as follows:

MICRON: a highly compact integrated printer/controller unit, with single 12.7mm print head (12.7mm x 100mm max print in the direction of product feed), operated via USB key (with print design via PC and downloaded to this key)

MINIKEY: typically we supply this unit as a single or dual remote pen setup for either 12.7mm or 25.4mm max print width (x 100mm) to allow ergonomic positioning of the controller relative to the print heads (although it can be supplied with a further one or two heads integrated to the controller).

The KEY advantage of this device over the Micron is that it allows selection of various stored print designs via simple LCD, with the ability to enter variable information; e.g. BATCH and BEST BEFORE information without 3rd party PC/software.

MINITOUCH PREMIUM: this unit offers a more sophisticated and larger colour display touch screen controller (with flexible user access control), combined with a heavy duty print head cartridge holder system, allowing up to four remote pens (print heads) for a print width up to 50.8mm (2")
