ALbelt D wrap

D-wrap labelling solutions are based around a wide edge leading label stock application format using our proven ALritma L 300mm labelling head, and provide substantially more labels per roll compared to a C-wrap labelling format, for example.

They offer a labelling result similar to a sleeve (even with the potential to deaden the adhesive and/or use a card material with pre-set fold positions) - fully wrapping the product and allowing for extended product information and/or branding, as well as a sealing function.

A key benefit of our solution (over some other similar machines) is the possibility to use shaped labels - i.e. to increase the visual impact on the shelf over a fixed straigt edge label or sleeve.

ALTech was one of the pioneering providers of 'D-wrap' sleeve-style tray and skin pack labelling systems with our innovative 'always ready' rotary adaption solution. This allows labels to be adapted around four sides of the product at production speeds far higher than achievable with more traditional pneumatic solutions, which have a recovery element in their operation cycle.

The solution is well proven with both rigid and and semi-rigid trays and clam-shells, as well more difficult to handle skin packs. Here we employ a 'floating' top holding belt system in our label adaption process to accommodate the potential variable height and positioning of the product in the pack, as well not bruising or damaging it.

D-wrap solutions can be provided with the full options available to our normal labelling heads. These include various printers and coders, as well as accessory options to monitor label reel exhaustion and central management control to minimise operator ambiguity in product/label setup (as well as providing remote machine management capabilities).

A particularly innovative and powerful configuration of our D-wrap solutions is where two labelling heads are placed in series. Our central management controller can then control sequencing between these two heads to automatically switch operation on label exhaustion or error - providing a zero downtime non-stop running solution.
