Labelling Machinery Area Sales Manager (Sales Engineer) – Midlands/North

Due to the retirement of a successful member of our technical sales team, we have an open position for an Area Sales Manager to operate in a proven and growing sales territory, ideally based in the East Midlands or North East of the country, but any location would be considered where advanced ‘labelling’ knowledge can be proven.

Our excellent reputation as a leading manufacturer relies heavily on the technical knowledge of our sales team, who must ensure the correct machine solution is specified for our customers always with the utmost integrity.

If you would like to join ALTech UK, you must be an honest, confident and driven person ideally with the following skillsets and experience:

  • At least one year’s experience as a sales executive within the packaging industry; and preferably, but not necessarily, within the labelling machinery sector.
  • Be quick to learn new skills and listen to and understand individual customer requirements to offer them the optimum solution for their business.
  • Proficient in the use of all core Microsoft Office packages and have excellent working knowledge and understanding of IT, computer hardware and configuration.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A proven record of sales achievements

The ideal candidate would also preferably, but not essentially have the following:

  • A degree in a business or engineering discipline.
  • Grade B or above GCSE English and Maths.

Area Sales Managers operate autonomously mainly from home offices and visiting customer sites, reporting directly to the ALTech UK Management Team with pre-set sales territories in which to operate.

Daily, the role would involve managing customer/site visits, producing quotations, finding new and following up existing leads (using our in-house CRM system), evolving marketing techniques (supported by ALTech’s marketing department) and answering incoming sales enquiries. Sales Managers also act as Project Leads for the projects they have sold, seeing them through from sale to delivery to ensure customer satisfaction.

ALTech’s sales approach is mainly consultative; ALTech are experts in their field and create tailored solutions for their customers. It is, therefore, essential that their Area Sales Managers have in-depth product knowledge and that solutions are presented in a professional and educated manner, befitting the quality of the machines.
