The long-standing M-Class Sato print engine series has now been discontinued to make way for the new tried and tested S84-ex and S86-ex models. Launched in October 2014, the new print engines have been commended for their exceptional throughput and incomparably easy operation, set up and maintenance features.
If you have an M-Class Sato Print engine, or an earlier version of the S84 unit (model numbers M8485Se, M8490Se, M8460Se, M8065Se, M8459Se, S8408, S8412, S8424,), fear not, there is no need to replace your unit in the short term; in fact the M-Class models have been in production for over 15 years, are incredibly robust and should serve you well for years to come. Sato have also committed to producing any spare parts for at least a further 5 years and we will of course continue to offer the same service and maintenance support that you have received to date.
Should you wish to upgrade your print engine we would be happy to help. With the assistance of an ALTech engineer to make some minor interface modifications, these new print engines should be entirely backwards compatible (from both a mechanical and data interface perspective) with your existing ALTech print and apply machine (ALcode, ALritma T, ALstep T etc).
