Friction feeding, printing, labelling and collating — in one offline system ⚙️
Continuing the theme of offline feeding, labelling and collating solutions, here is another recently supplied system from ALTech UK.
This machine is designed for automatic feeding, variable data printing, labelling, and restacking of flat products — in this case, labelled sampler cards for a bathroom samples customer.
Applications like this are often described in different ways:
- sample card feeding
- sample card labelling
- bathroom sample card labelling
- tile sample card labelling
- flat card feeding
- card labelling machine
- friction feeding and labelling
- offline print and apply labelling
- variable data label printing
- flat product feeding and collating
Whatever the wording, the requirement is usually the same: take a manual process and turn it into a controlled, repeatable and operator-friendly offline production system.
This machine combines our ALfeeder 250 friction feeder with an extended product chute, allowing each card to be labelled while still under control.
The system is paired with an ALritma labelling head in T-format and a Zebra print engine, allowing variable information, such as the sample type, to be overprinted in real time before label application.
From there, the products transfer onto an intelligent indexing and shingling conveyor.
A base friction feeder with a simple collection tray may feed and label the product, but it often gives limited real-world benefit. The operator still has to remain close, frequently clearing cards and managing the output.
This solution is designed to go further.
By measuring product length and indexing accordingly, the conveyor automatically adjusts between sizes and builds a controlled shingled stack for easy removal while the machine continues running.
That means greater accumulation capacity, easier handling and much better productivity in real production.
The system shown features:
• ALfeeder 250 friction feeder
• Automatic sample card feeding
• Extended controlled chute
• ALritma print and apply labelling head
• Zebra print engine
• Intelligent shingling conveyor
• Extended restack capacity
• Offline feeding, labelling and collating
For this customer, the machine will support productivity gains in a highly manual process: producing labelled sampler cards for bathroom samples.
It is another good example of how a relatively simple feeding and labelling concept becomes far more valuable when the whole operator process is considered.
Feed. Print. Label. Shingle. Collate.
All in one practical offline solution.
