Simply does it for a Clarkson’s Farm–featured Cotswold mill 🌾
Another neat example of a simple, practical labelling solution doing exactly what is needed.
This compact shrink-pack labelling machine is now in place at a long-established Cotswold flour mill, familiar to many viewers from its appearance on Clarkson’s Farm, and through its supply relationship with @Diddly Squat Farm Shop.
The customer is moving with the times and implementing an end–of–line robot palletiser.
To make that work effectively, the shrink-wrapped packs also need to be labelled automatically before palletising.
This follows on from a much larger ALTech project already supplied to the same site: a tailor-made two–face flour bag feed and labelling system, designed to give them the flexibility to manage an extensive product range of over 100 flours and specialist blends.
For this application, the brief was different.
The customer had already invested in a substantial industrial offline label printer, so the sensible approach was not to overcomplicate the machine.
We supplied our ALstep E labelling head, together with an ALwind label rewinder, allowing the mill team to print the required product labels for the day, rewind them neatly, and then run them through the automatic labeller.
A compact, flexible and robust solution — well suited to a working mill environment, and deliberately kept simple where simple was the right answer. ⚙️
At ALTech UK, we are just as comfortable supplying bespoke, multi-face labelling systems as we are providing practical, lower-cost machines that solve a specific production problem.
Sometimes, simply does it.
